Safety routines
Arrival and pickup
A guide is at the door at 8:45 and again at 3:15. Only adults on a family's pickup list may collect a student, and we ask to see ID until we know you.
Visitors
Visitors ring at the door and sign in at the long table. A parent who volunteers signs in the same way.
Tools and the workshop
A guide shows each student a tool before they use it, and one guide is in the room whenever tools are out. Tools go back on the wall at the end of every day.
Outings
On a trip out, both guides walk with the group and a parent signs a permission slip for each one.
Weather and drills
The guides keep a calendar of fire drills, and walk through the plan for a tornado watch with the students each fall and spring.
Illness and allergies
A student with a fever stays home until the next morning, and a guide calls a parent when a student is unwell. Tell us about allergies at the visit; we ask privately once you enroll.
